Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

Each psychologist can be contacted directly to enquire about their services and availability. Our contact details can be found here.

Do I need a Referral and can I get a rebate?

You do not need a referral to see a psychologist. However, you may be eligible for a rebate for ten Psychology appointments per calendar year if you are referred by your Psychiatrist, a Paediatrician, or a GP under a Mental Health Care Plan.

If you have an Eating Disorder Plan you may be eligible for a rebate for up to 40 appointments per calendar year.

The current rebate for a Clinical Psychologist is $145.25 per appointment.

Alternatively, if you have private health cover you may get a rebate for  psychology appointments. Please check with your health fund to determine your level of rebate. However, it is not permitted to claim from both Medicare and your private health fund for the same appointment.

We also see self managed or plan managed clients under the NDIS.

What are your appointment fees?

The Australian Psychological Society 2025 Schedule of Fees recommends that Clinical Psychologists charge $318 per session, which reflects the costs of running a private practice. At Enhance Psychology we charge significantly less to try to help make psychological therapy more affordable.  Our fees for a standard 50-minute session start at $250, please discuss with the individual psychologist.

Payment of the full session fee is required on the day of the appointment and we have EFTPOS facilities onsite.

How long are the appointments?

Standard appointments are 50 minutes.

Do you offer telehealth appointments?

Yes, we provide both in person and telehealth appointments.
