Catherine is a Counselling and Clinical Psychologist in private practice who divides her time between working with adults with complex mental health presentations and providing supervision for early to mid-career psychologists. Catherine has recently returned to academia in the form of a part-time position as a senior lecturer in the post-graduate training of psychologists at Cairnmillar Institute.
Catherine has previously worked as a senior lecturer at Curtin University, teaching in the MPsych (Counselling) program, and supervising placement students in the MPsych (Professional) programmes. Catherine is currently Chair Elect for the APS College of Counselling Psychology, and has previously held other committee positions in the College and in the Association of Counselling Psychologists.
Catherine’s professional interests lie in working with clients dealing with anxiety, bipolar mood disorder, complex trauma, and personality disorders. Catherine incorporates a range of therapeutic interventions including Schema Therapy, EMDR, DBT, CBT, ACT, brief psychodynamic psychotherapy, and existential therapy with an overarching focus on the cultivation of the therapeutic relationship as the avenue through which change and personal growth occurs.
